Hosted Load Balancing Solutions

Added Redundancy and Reliability When It Counts

For organizations that require added reliability and redundancy, NTT America Enterprise Hosting offers both shared and dedicated load balancing solutions. Load balancing distributes website traffic between multiple application servers improving overall site performance and protecting against server failure. Traffic is routed to a public IP address on the load balancing switch and then distributed using private IP addressing thereby increasing utilization and resilience. Utilizing Nortel Alteon Application Switches, traffic is dynamically routed to different servers based on defined criteria. This enables you to continue to provide high performance services throughout times of high traffic variations, server outages, or server expansions.

Options from start > growth

NTT America offers different load balancing configurations to suit the needs of your organization. Each company has its own unique requirements, applications, and traffic profile. So, flexible service options are important to help you maximize use of assets, minimize capital and operations expenditures, but still attain the desired performance. NTT America Enterprise Hosting offers two load balancing configurations to meet your needs.

Shared Load Balancing – For entry point customers who need to manage growing application volume, minimize exposure to equipment failure and gain greater cost flexibility, NTT America's Shared Load Balancing offers a per-server solution that effectively distributes the cost of dedicated equipment while ensuring complete isolation and security from other customers.

Dedicated Load Balancing – For customers with high traffic requirements, multiple servers, or who require a high degree of customization, Dedicated Load Balancing gives the performance and flexibility needed. The service provides two switches – one a master and one on hot standby. Dedicated Load Balancing enables highly customized solutions including features such as cookie insertion and priority queuing.
